St. John's Methodist concert

The Young Artists Competition, established in 1977, is held annually. This event is opento musicians, thirty years oryounger, who live in Tennessee or within 250 miles of Memphis. Areas of competition are: piano vioce, strings, classical guitar, woodwinds, brass, and harp. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three contestants in each category and the winners participate in a concert at the Beethoven Club.

The Beethoven Piano Sonata Competition, held biennially, and considered the "crown jewel" of the club's activities, invites pianists ages 16 to 36 to compete for cash awards. This event attracts contestants from all over the world and features world-renowned adjudicators.

The Student Composition Contest is sponsored in co-operation with Luna Nova Music. It is open to student composers up to the age of 30. Winners receive a performance and recording by the Luna Nova ensemble at the annual Belvedere Chamber Music Festival. For more information send email to Patricia Gray at: pgray@pgray.net
